Patrick Troughton stars in this recreation of a lost classic from 1966. The TARDIS brings the Doctor, Polly and Ben to a colony on the swamp planet of Vulcan. Soon after arriving, the Doctor witnesses a brutal murder. Meanwhile, in another part of the colony an ancient crashed space capsule has been discovered in the swamps. The colony's misguided chief scientist opens the capsule and discovers a group of strange metal 'creatures' inside. The creatures appear to be long dead. Guerillas time-jump back from the 22nd century to assassinate Sir Reginald Styles - a diplomat working for World Peace, The Doctor discovers they are from a future where the Daleks have invaded the Earth (Following wars precipitated by Styles's destruction at the peace conference). With the Daleks desperate to maintain their version of history, The Doctor and Jo find themselves in a totalitarian future, where they must discover who really happened and prevent it.

The Doctor and Jamie are stranded in 1966 London when the TARDIS is stolen, driven away in the back of a lorry. The Doctor uses his keen sense for clues and deduction to track the TARDIS back to a very unusual antique shoppe owned by the even more unusual and mysterious Edward Waterfield. As it transpires Mr. Waterfield and Victorian scientist Theodore Maxtible have devised a method of time travel with the help of some rather sinister associates - the Daleks. The Daleks have taken Edward Waterfield's daughter, Victoria, hostage. Using her life as a bargaining piece the Daleks force the terrified men to serve them and assist in capturing the Doctor.

The Doctor and Peri arrive on the planet Necros to attend the funeral of scientist Professor Athur Stengos, only to discover Davros, the creator of the Daleks, has become “The Great Healer“ who runs Tranquil Repose, a facility where the terminally ill are kept in suspended animation until a cure is found. They learn Davros has been turning all those in suspended animation into Daleks that are loyal to himself while making food from their dead bodies.

This made-for-video documentary gives animation fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Metropolis, the film adaptation of classic manga artist Osamu Tezuka's vision of a future society where humans and humanoid robots live in uneasy coexistence. Also included are interviews with the voice actors and other members of the crew, who share their experiences from making the film and discuss some of the special efforts that went into it.
